We’ve presented our Nature Positive Development Award to David Lloyd for its David Lloyd Club development on Nuffield Road, St Neots.

This means the development’s BNG investment is directly linked to measurable habitat creation and improvement.

The bit of BNG that often gets overlooked 

BNG is often talked about as a planning requirement, but the bigger picture can get missed. Developers are helping fund nature recovery across England, and much of that work happens without much recognition.

That’s why we created the Nature Positive Development Award to highlight projects making a real and registered contribution to biodiversity.

Giving good BNG work some credit 

BNG is still a relatively young market, and understandably a lot of the focus so far has been on how the system works.

But there is another side to it that deserves more attention.

Developments are now helping to fund habitat creation and restoration across the country. In many cases, that work will continue delivering benefits for nature for decades after the development itself is complete.

Most people will never know it happened.

Our Nature Positive Development certificate is a way of making that contribution more visible and giving development teams something tangible to show for the investment they have made.
