We experience BNG (and the British Weather)
Last week, the Biodiversity Units UK management team headed out to Wistow Habitat Bank for our latest meeting - and it's fair to say that nature delivered on all fronts.
Wistow is one of those places that reminds you exactly why this work matters.
The estate - part of the Environment Bank network - is mid-way through an ambitious 30-year habitat creation programme, transforming farmland into thriving ecosystems - wildflower meadows alive with butterflies and bees, wetland edges drawing kingfishers and ground-nesting birds, and the kind of quiet corners where hedgehogs and otters can actually get on with being wild.
The setting was inspirational. The meeting very productive. And the Great British summertime?
Entirely predictable.
The skies opened and the team got thoroughly soaked!
When sharing with the team that was not at the walk, someone had the bright idea of running the images through an AI image generator. Safe to say the laughs were worth the wet socks…
